No-logo fountain pens,

handmade,

imperfect

but full of characters

The first time I tried a handmade fountain pen was with a Naginata-style nib. It has a long and slightly elevated nib, with the tip curving round, allowing for a variation in ink intensity as you change the nib's angle against the paper, similar to the natural effect of a traditional Chinese brush for writing Han characters. Artisans craft the nib by hand to achieve the necessary flexibility, and the nib produces different shades depending on each person's writing angle. I've learned that the Naginata nib is named after the Samurai sword of the Edo period. Whether it's the name or not, when writing with it, I feel a certain strength and decisiveness in the strokes of the characters.

Back to the 1970s

This is a rare ballpoint pen that I really like (because I'm a fan of fountain pens, huhu). Placing this pen on a blank page brings to mind the classic ballpoint pens that journalists often clip onto their pockets while out gathering news or the aged librarians in a magnificent post office in Budapest.

This is the Ico Retro70 ballpoint pen from the Hungarian brand Ico, originating from Hungary, the homeland of the inventor of the world's first ballpoint pen, journalist Laszlo Biro. The pen uses oil-based ink, writes smoothly, and has a soft feel without drying out quickly, even for someone who prefers fountain pen or gel ink like myself. It can write up to 2500 meters before running out of ink.

Trùng Kí – một ghi chép về cái đẹp đã-từng

Trùng Kí notebooks are born from the @lostofthegreen project, born out of love for wildflowers, insects, in the journey of pursuing beauty that is gradually fading away. With a sparkling belief that one day the Earth will revive, giving birth to kindness and the pure, beautiful things in life.
